AGGIES OVERVIEW:Â North Carolina A&T continues the season with doubleheaders on back-to-back days against UNCG Greensboro. Friday, the two schools will play at the Lady Aggies Softball Complex. The two Gate City Division I schools will then play on Saturday at UNCG Softball Stadium. Last time out, the Aggies rally against Elon fell short in an 8-5 loss. The Aggies came back from an 8-1 deficit with a four-run fourth but could not add additional runs over the last three innings.Â
Three Aggies lead the team with a .333 batting average in freshman Alyxx Estrada, sophomore Jai Deese and junior Nikki Varela. Estrada and Deese lead the team with four hits each. Estrada leads the team with three RBI, and Deese leads the team with three runs scored. In the circle, freshman S'Nyiah Stinson leads the Aggies with a 5.79 ERA in 9.2 innings pitched. Â
UNC GREENSBORO SPARTANS OVERVIEW: UNC Greensboro had its opening weekend canceled but went 1-4 last weekend in a home tournament that included two losses to No. 13 Kentucky. UNCG also lost twice to Appalachian State before closing the tournament with a 9-5 win over Apo State.               Â
Blayke Batten leads the Spartans with a .400 batting average. Kayleigh Willis is batting .375 and leads the team with four runs scored. Makenna Mattijs is also batting better than .350 at .368 batting. She leads the team with seven hits.
