The Aggies went 5-0 on Saturday.

The Aggies bowling team defeated two ranked opponents on Saturday.

BALTIMORE, Md. – The North Carolina A&T bowling team is in first place after Saturday's Baker play at the season's first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) meet.

The Aggies went 5-0, knocking down 5,008 pins on Saturday, including three 1,000-plus games. They now have 16 1,000-plus pin games this season. The Aggies beat two ranked opponents on the day and have defeated 12 ranked opponents this season.

A&T began their day with a 1,052-852 win over No. 20 Maryland-Eastern Shore, A&T's 1,052 pins were also the Aggies high score of the day. They followed with a 978-869 win over No. 19 Monmouth.

In the third game, the Aggies rifled off a 1,004-840 victory over Norfolk State before dismantling Howard, 1,027-761 in the fourth. The 266-pin difference against the Bison is the biggest scoring differential of the season for A&T.

On Saturday, the Aggies fifth and final match came against the Coppin State Eagles, a game that A&T won 947-814.

A&T finds itself in first place after the first day of competition for the second straight tournament played. However, unlike the first two tournaments of the season, this one will not produce a winner and is meant more for conference tournament seeding based on win-loss records from both MEAC meets.

Tomorrow will be comprised of four more baker matches to conclude the meet. The Aggies are to a 5-0 start in the MEAC. They are 22-9 on the season.
