EAST GREENSBORO – Guard Kameron Langley (6-foot-2, 205, JR, Greensboro, NC) and forward Ronald Jackson (6-8, 205, SR, Clay County, Fla.) have been named to the BOXTOROW Division I All-America first team. Acting head coach Will Jones was named co-coach of the year as well.
Langley had a spectacular junior season averaging career-highs in points (9.4), assists (8.0) and rebounds (5.2). He also notched two triple-doubles, one of only two players in the country to have multiple this year.
It was a season of broken records for the junior. He broke the Aggies' all-time assist record previously held by Thomas Griffis (582) and a couple weeks later, broke the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) record of 622, a record that stood for almost 30 years. Langley compiled 247 assists throughout the year, a school single-season record and let the country in total assists and assists per game. He also earned MEAC Player of the Week honors twice.
Jackson led the team in points per game (15.0) and rebounds per game (10.4) all season. He became the first Aggie since Bruce Jenkins in 2001 to average a double-double. He racked up 15 double-doubles, second in the conference and 19th in the country. He scored in double-figures 28 times this year, including a career-high 28 points on Feb. 17 against N.C. Central. He also hauled in double-figure rebounds in 18 games with a career-high of 18 on Jan. 20 against Morgan State. Jackson earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice.
Both Langley and Jackson were first-team all-conference selections for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
Under Jones, the Aggies went 13-5 and earned the No. 2 seed in the MEAC tournament with a 12-4 conference record. The Aggies led the league in eight statistical categories (scoring offense, 3-point field goal percentage defense, rebounding offense, assists, steals, turnover margin, assist-to-turnover ratio, and defensive rebounds) in conference play. N.C. A&T averaged 80.6 points in 16 conference games, over four more points than second-place Bethune-Cookman (76.5).
Jones helped further the Aggies' conference home winning streak to 25 games including wins over two teams that were in first place heading into the game (Norfolk State and N.C. Central).
Jones shares the coaching honor with Tennessee State's Brian "Penny" Collins.
