Men's Basketball Gets Blowout Road Win

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Senior big man Ronald Jackson notched his seventh double-double on the year as North Carolina A&T defeated Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), 91-53, on Saturday evening. Jackson had a season-high 22 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
 
The Aggies move to 6-11 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
 
Senior guard Andre Jackson had 16 points on 4-for-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Tyler Maye added 11 points and Kwe Parker compiled 10 points to round out double-figure scoring for the Aggies. This is the third-straight game N.C. A&T has scored 90-plus points. They have score 310 points in their last three contests.
 
In the first half, the Aggies' stifling defense held UMES to 6-for- 33 shooting, just 18 percent from the field, and 0-for-14 from 3-point range. N.C. A&T jumped out to a 15-10 lead courtesy of two 3-pointers from Andre Jackson.
 
The Aggies utilized a 9-2 run to extend their lead to 24-12 with 8:45 remaining. They enjoyed their largest lead of the half when Jackson hit another three to beat the buzzer and give the Aggies a 41-21 lead heading into the locker room. N.C. A&T shot 46.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from downtown in the first half.
 
The Aggies lead fluttered around 25 for the first several minutes of the second half. N.C. A&T then went on a 13-2 run to take a 60-27 lead with under 14 minutes to play. The Aggies led by as much as 42 on two separate occasions both coming off the tail-end of a pair of Harry Morrice free throws. N.C. A&T never trailed in the contest.
 
Up next, the Aggies hit the road and head to Dover to take on Delaware State on Monday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
