A&T Loses At ODU

NORFOLK, Va. – The North Carolina A&T men's basketball team had its lowest rebounding totals of the season in an 85-48 loss to Old Dominion Sunday afternoon at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

The Aggies (1-10) lost their 10th straight and shot below 40 percent for the seventh time this season. The Monarchs shot (7-1) shot 54 percent from the field and 62 percent in the second half. Sophomore Khary Doby led the Aggies with 16 points and five rebounds on 6-for-12 shooting. Junior Bruce Beckford added 15 and Denzel Keyes had 10 points off the bench.

The game was never really in doubt. A Richard Ross dunk gave the Monarchs a 12-2 lead in the first 5 ½ minutes of the game. That lead grew to 19-4 when Ross dunked again three minutes later. The lead went to 20, 29-9, in the first half on a Ambrose Mosley 3-pointer with 7:19 to play in the first half.  A&T never got any closer than 17 points the rest of the way as they went into the locker room trailing 41-21 at halftime.

ODU turned the ball over just six times and had four players score in double figures led by Ross' 12 points. Mosley and Nik Biberaj came off the bench to score 11 and 10 respectively, while Aaron Bacote added 10 points, eight assists and six rebounds.

The Aggies return to action next week when they travel to No. 12 Ohio State to face the Buckeyes on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. They will remain in Ohio two days later to face Kent State Friday night at 7.
