-- The North Carolina A&T volleyball team struggled in its
second
match at the Great 8 Volleyball Tournament played at Georgia State.
The
Aggies to put together just 11 kills and 14 errors as Presbyterian
defeated the Aggies 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-8) on Saturday morning.
In the
afternoon
match, the Aggies got six kills apiece from sophomore Bree Dotstry,
senior Janae Mitchell and senior Tiffany Mellette in a 3-0 loss(25-16,
25-13, 25-19) to Louisiana-Monroe. Mitchell and Mellette had 13 digs
apiece. Mellette was named to the all-tournament team, marking the
second straight tournament in which Mellette has earned the honor.
Mitchell and Dotstry had three kills apiece
for the Aggies against Presbyterian.
Mellette, junior Bridget McCaskill and Mitchell had eight digs apiece,
while Mellette added three blocks. For the tournament, Mellette had 17
kills, 11 assists, 22 digs and five blocks in nine games played.
The Aggies will
play their home opener Tuesday night at 6 against Marshall. The Aggies
have played their first seven matches without sophomore setter Jordan
Gray.
