DAYTONA
BEACH, Fla. – For the fourth straight match, Tiffany
Mellette recorded double figure kills, but the North Carolina
A&T's
volleyball team could not slow down Bethune-Cookman's top two hitters
in
a 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-16) loss at B-CU's Moore Gymnasium.
Mellette recorded 11 kills and just two errors to post a .409 hitting
percentage, a career high. After missing the Winston-Salem State game,
Janae Mitchell returned and led the Aggies with 14 kills.
After dropping the first set, the Aggies tried to even things up in
the
second set with a rally. The Wildcats led 22-15, but a Mellette kill
sparked a 7-0 run. Bridget McCaskill capped off the run with a service
to tie the set at 22. Jessica Wilson got the Wildcats back on track
with a kill. Kills by Krysta Gardner and Wilson closed out the set for
B-CU.
Wilson and Chelle Ticeson had 10 kills apiece, helping the Wildcats
record a .389 hitting percentage for the match. The Aggies are 0-2 in
the conference and face Florida A&M on Sunday.
