Marissa Hatchett

Marissa Hatchett joined head volleyball coach Hal Clifton’s staff as an assistant coach on July 1, 2026. She brings broad volleyball knowledge and experience to our program, having played at the collegiate, national, international, and professional levels. She played her college career at UCLA in Southern California, where she started all four years.

Hatchett was integral to the team's two national championships and four Final Four appearances. She was selected as an All-American as a junior and senior. After college, Marissa played on the USA National team before turning pro and playing in the Italian Professional League and the Puerto Rico professional league. She also played on the AVP and Bud Light Pro Beach Tour for several years.

A native of Southern California, Marissa has coached both indoor and beach volleyball for 10 years. Her daughter, Bailey, played beach volleyball at Georgia State University, where she was also a Presidential Scholar and an active member of the Honors College. Clifton said he is excited that she chose to bring her talents to the A&T volleyball program, sharing her knowledge and wisdom with the student-athletes.  He added that she will be a great addition.
