likely team with freshman Jayla Scott for the No. 1 doubles team this season...Has
a career 7-51 singles record and is 7-41 in doubles...Her forehand shot is her
strength as she looks to improve on her first serve and volley skills this

MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team...Defeated the No. 1 seed in the A
Division, Kersetn Vanem by 7-6, 4-6, 12-10, to get to the semi-finals at the
HBCU National Tennis Championships Tournament in September of 2011.
2012 Season:
Played in 16 singles matches and 16 doubles matches...Finished with a 2-13
singles record and a 3-13 doubles record...Went 2-8 at the No. 1 spot in singles,
and made four appearances at No. 2 and two at No. 3...Won her singles match at
Savannah State to help the Aggies to a 5-2 win ...Also won her match against
Fayetteville State to help the Aggies to a 7-0 victory...Went 3-12 in doubles with
Azeib Nigatu, including a pair of conference

with Kimberly Stalling for one doubles match.
2011 Season: Played in 15 singles and 15 doubles
matches...Ended the year 2-13 in singles matches, going 0-4 in MEAC play...Went 0-3
in doubles with Kimberly Stallings and finished 0-9 in doubles with Azeib
Nigatu...Picked up the 6-1, 6-1, win on March 5 against Chandel McDonie of
Savannah State...Also picked up the win on April 5 against Winston-Salem State.
2010 Season: Played in 17 singles and 18 doubles
matches...Finished the season 3-15 in singles competition, going 1-3 in MEAC matches...Finished
the season 0-3 in doubles with Winnie Quick, 4-9 in doubles with Azeib Nigatu,
0-1 in doubles with Danielle McCaskill and 0-3 in doubles with Nina Henry... Was
named Athlete of the Year Award for Tennis for the 2009-10 season...Was nominated
for Freshman Female Student-Athlete of the Year Award.
High School: Made the honor roll all four years at
Berkley High School...Also danced extensively, which included ballet, tap, jazz,
modern and hip-hop...Participated in modeling as well. .
Personal: Full name is Cayla Nicole Cross...She
is the daughter of Howard Cross and Erskilene Tucker, and has two brothers,
Janson and Lamar...Was born on Oct. 8, 1991 and majors in accounting... Has
memberships with ALOBEAM Accounting Society and the National Association of
Black Accountants (NABA)...Volunteers with Glenwood Ministries, tutoring kids
from kindergarten through high school...Interned with PricewaterhouseCoopers in
Bermuda in the summer of 2012...Is the first in her immediate family to attend college.
