NEW CASTLE, Del. – The North Carolina A&T bowling team, the 13th-ranked team in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 25 poll, started Saturday's action against the No. 1 team in the nation and ended the day facing the No. 2 team in the country. In between, the Aggies picked up three wins on the second day of the 2026 Northeast Classic tournament at Bowlerama during traditional game matches.
A&T moved down one spot from Friday's action to 11th place. The Aggies totaled 4,957 pins on Saturday to average 198.3 over 25 games. The Aggies have a total pinfall of 9,834 with a two-day average of 196.7. The Aggies went 3-2 on Saturday and are 8-2 in the tournament. Sophomore Victorya White led the Aggies on Saturday during traditional play, totaling 1,063 pins to average 212.60. She is in 18th place.
Three teams are 10-0 at the tournament, with the top-ranked team in the nation, Jacksonville State University (JSU), leading the way with a total pinfall of 10,773. The Gamecocks are followed by No. 2 Vanderbilt at 10-0 with a total pinfall of 10,719. Tenth-ranked Maryville is also 10-0, totaling 10,250 pins. Sixth-ranked Wichita State (10,227) and fifth-ranked Louisiana Tech (10,111) round out the top 5.
Individually, the Gamecocks have two in the top three, led by Gianna Brandlino with a total pinfall of 1,226. Vanderbilt's Katelyn Abigania follows her with a total pinfall of 1,185, and Brandlino's teammate Kaitlyn Stull with a total pinfall of 1,168.
A&T started the day against the top-ranked Gamecocks, losing 1,069-996. The Aggies had excellent performances from White and junior Payton Hartgrove. White totaled 223 points, followed closely by Hartgrove, who posted a 221 pinfall. Freshman Charisse Graham added a 203 total pinfall, but the Aggies could not overcome Brandolino's 246 and Stull's 239. The Aggies did take down a top 10 in Wichita State next.
White had a monstrous performance, posting a 243 total pinfall in the Aggies 1,070-884 win. Her performance was complemented by junior Savannah Burgin, who totaled 235 pins. Sophomore Jasmine Hall contributed mightily with a 225, followed by Graham's 207. The Aggies also secured a victory over Daemen University.
Again, the Aggies showed dominance, posting a 1,052 pinfall as compared to Daemen's 856. Burgin led the Aggies with a 230 total pinfall, followed by White's 219. Hall also went over a 200 total pinfall with 206, and Graham (199) and Hartgrove (198) nearly reached 200. The Aggies closed out Saturday's competition against two ranked opponents, starting with 11th-ranked and tournament host Sacred Heart.
The two teams battled before the Aggies came away with a 931-921 win. Graham led the Aggies with a 225 total pinfall. Burgin added a 192 total pinfall. A&T closed with a 990-908 loss to Vanderbilt. Burgin had her third match of exceeding a 200 total pinfall by posting a 221. White had her fourth match of 200 or better by posting a 210 total pinfall. Vanderbilt's Saphyre Nofuente led the Commodores with a 214 total pinfall.
Burgin also finished in the top 25 individually, totaling 1,049 pins to average 209.08 to finish in 22nd place. Graham placed 56th with a 970 total pinfall and 194.0 average, and Hall is 59th with a 957 total pinfall and 191.40 average.
Sunday's bracket play starts at 8:25 a.m. There will be three best-of-seven Baker matches during the day.
