GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T returned to action in women's tennis for the first time in a month because of injury. The Aggies faced Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) opponent College of Charleston on Friday at the Dudley Tennis Courts, losing 7-0.
The day started with No. 1 doubles, where Charleston's Francesca Salvato and Halli Trinkle defeated sophomore Isabela Romanichen and freshman Tabeth Tadoum. The Cougars secured the doubles point with a 7-6 win at No. 2 doubles as Mckenzie Daniel and Klara Vukicevic defeated Hana El Sherif and Nour Gueblaoui.
Singles play began with Trinkle defeating Romanichen at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-4. Tadoum moved to No. 2 singles for Friday's match, battling Oziera Ahmad in the first set before losing 7-5. Ahmad beat Tadoum 6-2 in the second set for the win. Charleston clinched the win at No. 3 singles as Jaiden McKee defeated El Sherif 6-1, 6-2. Gueblaoui's match ended at No. 4 singles with her trailing 4-1.
The Aggies return to CAA play on Saturday with a 2 p.m. match at Hampton.
