Robb Earns Bowler of the Week Honors

Katie Robb finished second at the Prairie View A&M Invitational.

EAST GREENSBORO – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) named North Carolina A&T graduate Katie Robb bowler of the week on Tuesday. 

Robb finished second at the Prairie View A&M Invitational last weekend, knocking down 1,316 pins for a six-match average of 219.33. 

She finished six pins behind Youngstown State's Madyson Marx.

She bowled four matches of 200-plus, including two matches of 246 and one match of 265. Robb began the traditional matches Saturday with a 246 against host Prairie View A&M and bowled a 183 against No. 15 Mount St. Mary's in the second match.

Robb bowled her 265 against No. 14 Fairleigh Dickinson in the third match and finished the day with two more 200-plus games. She bowled a 202 against No. 1 McKendree and a 246 against No. 5 Stephen F. Austin.  

In the traditional matches, Robb recorded a 93.3 overall fill percentage and averaged 21.93 per frame. She converted 33 of 60 throws as strikes for a 55.0 strike percentage. She also converted 23 of 27 spare attempts for an 85.2 spare percentage.

Robb has knocked down 3,064 pins for a 15-match average of 204.3. She entered the weekend bowling in nine traditional matches knocking down 1,748 pins for an average of 194.2.  

The second-ranked Aggies finished fifth in the tournament, which featured the top-9 teams ranked in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll.

A&T continues the season next weekend with a trip to Baltimore, Md., for the Morgan State James Brown Invitational, Feb. 10-12, before hosting the next two weekends at Triad Lanes (21 Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, N.C.).
