HANRAHAN, La. – The North Carolina A&T bowling team secured a No. 2 seed after qualifying at Tulane University's 2021 Colonial Classic. The Aggies, the fifth-ranked team in the nation, knocked down 10,143 total pins through Friday and Saturday, trailing first-place and No. 6 Sam Houston State by 316 pins.
The Aggies went 2-3 in Saturday's traditional matches but had three players represented in the top-16, led by senior Pamela Warr's 13th-place finish and 211.8 average. Junior Lauren Tomaszewski is 15th with a 211.6 average and preseason Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) bowler of the year, sophomore Melanie Katen, is 16th with a 211.0 average.
A&T is 6-4 for the weekend thus far.

Katen's day-high 247 would lead the Aggies over Prairie View A&M for their first victory of the day, 1,080-887.
A&T would drop the next match against No. 6 Sam Houston State 1,023-951, but ended the day on a high note with a 1,070-843 triumph over Florida A&M. Tomaszewski was the high-mark in that game with a 243 while freshman Maya Avilez contributed with a 212.
Avilez bowled the final two matches of the day and had a 202.5 average in 72nd place. She replaced preseason All-MEAC selection Ericka Quesada, who posted a 181.0 average through three games with a high of 184 in Game 3.
Sophomore Laura Garcia is 44th after bowling a 206.0 average in four matches, and senior Cristina Acosta saw action in the first match and had a 161.
The Aggies will put their No. 2 seed to the test against No. 1 Sam Houston State on Sunday, with the winner of that match advancing straight to the finals. The action begins at 10 a.m.
