Bowling Finishes Northeast Invitational

N.C. A&T's next tournament is at the end of January.

Mia Pope and the Aggies finished 14th at the Northeast Invitational.
CROYDON, Pa. – Seventh-ranked North Carolina A&T finished in 14th place in the first tournament of 2020 at the Northeast Invitational Sunday at AMF Bristol Park Lanes.

Fourteen-ranked Delaware State won the first round of bracket play 4-2 over the Aggies (50-27). DSU won the first game 169-146 but N.C. A&T tied the match at one with a 175-174 win in the second game.  The Hornets recaptured the lead with a 175-170 for a 2-1 lead and extended their advantage to 3-1 after a 191-190 win in the fourth game. 

N.C. A&T won the fifth game 171-170 to cut the lead to 3-2, but the Hornets won the final game 206-192 to advance to the next round.
The Aggies faced Long Island next. Long Island defeated St. Francis College Brooklyn 4-1 in the first round.  N.C. A&T won the first game 208-176 to take a 1-0 lead. LIU won the second game 199-168 to tie the match at one.

N.C. A&T won the third game 201-164 for a 2-1 lead and extended the lead to 3-1 after a 162-148 win in the fourth game.  Long Island won the fifth game 204-157 to cut the lead to 3-2, but the Aggies won the final game 202-164 to advance to face No. 23 Monmouth. 

Monmouth won the first two games (172-167; 183-138).  The Aggies battled back to win the third game 161-138 before the two teams finished in a 179-179 tie in the fourth game. Monmouth won the final two games, 165-161 and 200-181 to win the match for 13th place, 4.5-1.5.

The Aggies are back in action Jan. 31-Feb. 2 for the Prairie View A&M Invitational in Arlington, Texas.
