CHESAPEAKE,
Va. - The North Carolina A&T went 5-7 in over the weekend
at the Hampton Roads Collegiate Bowling Invitational. One of the Aggies four
wins included a victory over MEAC Southern Division favorite Norfolk State.
Individually, the Aggies were led by junior Amber Brown
who had games exceed 200 in two separate games with a 201 and 224. Senior April
Terry had the highest average for the Aggies with a 176.5 over five games.
Brown closely followed with a 176.0 average.
"Spare shooting was better," said N.C. A&T head coach
James Williams. "Still leaves for a lot of improvement. The team has started to
figure out who they are. They found a way to continue to compete, and even led
going into the last frame in every team match today."
In addition to beating the Spartans on Saturday, the
Aggies also earned a victory over Virginia State. Their three losses on
Saturday were to Elizabeth City State, Bowie and N.C. Central. On Friday, the
Aggies took down Chowan and Virginia State.
N.C. A&T was 1-2 against MEAC competition. The Aggies
wrapped up the tournament with a victory over Chowan and a loss to Bowie State.
