Student-Athlete:
"I came in as a walk-on in 2010. I won a starting job last year and since then
I have been building myself up. I am not finished, I have more to
accomplish."
The
evidence for being the BCBSNC Athlete of the Week: In 2011, Grant was
one of 20 finalist for the Jerry Rice Award. He is an undersized linebacker,
yet he led the Aggies in tackles last season, and he is second on the team in
stops this season. During the week, Grant returned an interception 35 yards for
a touchdown to seal a 16-3 win for the Aggies. Grant was also named MEAC
Defensive Player of the Week. Grant is a part of the second best defense
nationally ranked.
Grant
on being the BCBSNC Athlete of the Week: "What makes me a good player is that I
have the heart and passion for the game. I have determination to play. I know
that I am undersized but I use my strengths to supersede my weaknesses. I use
my agility and speed to get around offensive lineman."
