GREENSBORO - Chelsea Fox has had a challenging August. In a matter of 2 ½ weeks she had to get accustomed to a new coach, a new position and a new volleyball season. Thus far, she has handled those challenges well.

Fox, the Aggies sophomore setter, native, earned all-tournament honors at the UNCG Volleyball Invitational at Fleming Gymnasium. On Saturday, the Aggies lost twice in the invite as East Tennessee State defeated the Aggies 3-0 (25-8, 11, 14) and UNCG won 3-0 (25-16, 18, 17).

Fox (5-8, Parker, Colo.) averaged 4.67 assists per game during the four-match tournament. It was a solid performance from a player who has taken a crash course to learn the setter position after a lack of depth put the Aggies in need for a setter.

"She was forced into the role, but has responded very well," said N.C. A&T head coach Hal Clifton. "She has met the challenge head on and will develop into an excellent setter."

N.C. A&T got off to a slow start during the morning match against ETSU and produced just a -.253 hitting percentage. The Aggies offensive production against UNCG was crisper. Junior Andrea Evans and sophomore Jeana Daniels had six kills apiece. Fox recorded 15 assists along with six digs, while Daniels added five blocks.

In the third game of the match, it was a Daniels kill that gave the Aggies a 10-9 lead. UNCG's Vicky Harley sparked an 8-1 run that helped the Spartans clinch the win.

"I'm very proud of the team for their effort over the past two days," said Clifton. "We competed hard and put forth great effort. We still have a lot of things to learn and we are using these tournaments to prepare for our conference schedule."
